- It's 1 Cup of Arhar Dal/Toor Dal.
- You need 1 cup of Split Bengal Gram/ChanaDal.
- You need 6 - 8 of Green Chillies (depends on spiciness of the Chilli) -.
- It's 1 Tsp of Peppercorns.
- It's 1 inch of Ginger.
- It's 1 Tbsp of Cumin Seeds.
- Prepare A handful of Freshly grated Coconut -.
- Prepare 2Tbsp of Finely chopped Coriander & Curry Leaves -.
- It's As per taste of Salt -.
- You need 1 Tbsp of Lemon Juice.
- It's 1 Tsp of Eno/Baking Soda.
- Prepare 1/2 Tsp of Asafoetida -.
- Prepare 1 Cup of Rice Flour.
- It's 2 Cups of Water.
- You need of For Sweet Kadubu.
- It's 1 Cup of Freshly grated Coconut.
- It's 0.5 Cup of Jaggery/Jaggery Powder -/as per the required sweetness.
- Prepare 1 Tbsp of Rice flour.
- It's 1 Tsp of Cardamom Powder.
Khara Kadubu, Sihi Kadubu (Savoury & Sweet Pudding/Dumplings) instructions
- Wash and soak both the Lentils in water for 5-6 hours or overnight..
- Add Green Chillies, Peppercorns, Ginger, Cumin Seeds in a blender along with the soaked Lentils in batches and blend it coarsely. DO NOT ADD WATER..
- To the ground mixture, add finely chopped Coriander & Curry Leaves, Grated Coconut, Lemon Juice, Salt and mix well. Add Eno/Soda in the end & mix it. Stuffing for Savoury Kadubu is ready..
- Boil 2 cups of water, add a spoon of Oil & Salt into it. Add the Rice Flour into it, give it a mix, close the lid & turn off the flame. Let it cook in the hot steam for 5-10 minutes. Then knead it to a soft dough and make round balls out of it as shown..
